Daily Workflow

A typical Power Studio workflow looks like this:

  1. Keep the track database current.
  2. Confirm Clock Formats and Day Formats match the station schedule.
  3. Generate playlists for the required dates.
  4. Review playlists for fixed items, news, commercials, voice tracks and special programming.
  5. Load the correct playlist in the playout window.
  6. Run in Automation Mode, Live Assist Mode or Training Mode, depending on the station's current need.
  7. Check logs, reports and any failed macros after broadcast.

For fully automated stations, generate playlists far enough ahead to cover weekends, holidays and maintenance periods.

For live stations, make sure presenters know how to switch between Automation Mode, Live Assist Mode and Training Mode, start players, use carts, preview audio, and respond when a macro or external stream is unavailable.

Suggested Daily Routine

At the start of the day, check the next broadcast hours, dynamic content, fixed items and any special programming. Confirm that the on-air computer is running the expected version and that audio routing has not changed.

During the day, keep playlist changes deliberate. If a presenter changes the running hour, make sure the next fixed item and the next playlist transition still make sense.

At the end of the day, review failed downloads, missing audio, unexpected restarts and any manual changes that should become permanent format or metadata changes.
